Kehoe Defense May Center on Depression
Posted 05 November 2008
Michelle Kehoe, a Coralville woman accused of killing one of her sons and trying to kill another last week, may use a defense of postpartum depression or postpartum psychosis, according to a prosecutor.

Kehoe is charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder and child endangerment for allegedly killing her 2-year-old son, Seth. She is also accused of injuring her 7-year-old son, Sean, in the same incident Sunday, Oct. 26, near Littleton.

The identity of Kehoe’s attorney hasn’t been made public.
Kehoe, who sustained injuries in the incident last month, remains at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Law enforcement officials have said they plan to take her into custody after she is released from the hospital.
