Officers Respond to Incidents

Officers with the Fayette County
Sheriff's Office responded to a number of separate incidents on
Saturday, Nov. 8.
At approximately 12:58 a.m., the Fayette County Sheriff's Office
responded to a vehicle in the ditch at the intersection of 190th and P
Ave. It was also reported that a male subject was lying in the road.
Once deputies arrived they discovered the operator of the vehicle,
Patrick James Rochford, age 57 of Hawkeye, had lost control and put his
vehicle in the ditch. When deputies arrived Rochford had fled into a
near corn field, but was quickly apprehended. Rochford was found to be
intoxicated and was arrested and taken to the Fayette County Jail and
charged with OWI 1st Offense and Failure to have vehicle under control.
Also during the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 8, at
approximately 1:17 a.m., law enforcement officers received a 911 call
from Jimmy D's bar in the city of Hawkeye. Upon further investigation,
Brian D. Coonradt, 44 of Hawkeye, was found to be intoxicated. Coonradt
was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Sheriffs Office
where he was charged with Possession of Marijuana third offense Class D
felony, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct, and
public intoxication all simple misdemeanors. Coonradt was held awaiting
his initial appearance.
