Deer Cause Several Accidents

Last week Friday, Nov. 7, the
Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to a car/deer accident on
Highway 18 near Lion Road. Bryce W. Hanson of Hawkeye struck a deer
with his 2000 Oldsmobile van. The vehicle sustained about $3,500.00 in
damages.
On Saturday, Nov. 8, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office responded to
another vehicle vs. deer incident, this time on Highway 3 near Alberta
Road. William C. Stocks of Oelwein struck the deer with his 2001 Buick.
Stocks' vehicle sustained about $5,500.00 in damages.
Also on Saturday, Nov. 8, law enforcement officers with the Fayette
County Sheriff's Office responded to a car-deer accident, this time on
Highway 150 and 50th Street. Duane D. Taylor of Maynard struck the deer
with his 2006 Ford truck. The vehicle sustained about $2,500.00 in
damages.
