News Oelwein Police Investigate Accidents Posted 19 November 2008 Oelwein Police investigated a motor vehicle accident in the area of 6th Avenue and 5th Street SE at 8:25 a.m. last Wednesday, Nov. 12. A brown 2004 Mercury Mountaineer driven by Jackie Marie Wegner, 33, of Oelwein, collided with a red 2001 Ford Taurus driven by Deann Kay Fox, 26 of Stanley. Oelwein Police also investigated a motor vehicle accident in the area of Hillside Drive and Highway 3 in Oelwein shortly before 8 a.m. last week Wednesday, Nov. 12. A green 2005 Chevrolet Trail Blazer driven by Brenda Sue Kuehl, 39, of Elkader, collided with a 2002 Chevrolet Trail Blazer driven by Melissa Joy Brooks, 24, of Strawberry Point. Initial estimates of damages were $1500.00 to the vehicle driven by Kuehl.
