News Kids Fishing Derby at Backbone Posted 5 June 2009 A Kids Fishing Derby will be held at the Backbone State Park Beach Area for children ages 5 to 15. Registration begins at 10:30 am. Exhibits and displays will run from 10:30 am to noon, with lunch available for a donation. Fishing derby begins at 12:45 pm, with prizes from local sponsors. Volunteers with area organizations will present the biology of frogs and fish, display live fish, conduct a casting contest and present the rules and regulations on fishing.
