CNA Training in Postville Begins June 15
Posted 9 June 2009
Free CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) training will be provided at St.
Paul Lutheran Church in Postville through the Barnabas
Uplift “Help4Health Program”.
Training is available at no cost to applicants at 200% or below the
federal poverty guidelines, that’s $21,000 for one
person, or $36, 000 for a family of three. The Barnabas Uplift Network,
of which Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of
Dubuque and ELCA NE Iowa Synod are partners, will specifically recruit
applicants who show a willingness to work in the
health care field and are at least 16 years of age. Upon graduation
students will be given assistance in finding employment
in a healthcare facility.
Classes are scheduled to begin on June 15. For more information and
application forms, contact Zenaida at 563-380-7195 or
postvillecna@yahoo.com. Forms will also be available at the Postville
Resource Center, 105 So Lawler St., Postville, and at
KPVL Radio Station.
Volunteers will be needed for tutoring, childcare, food and other
support services. Again, contact Zenaida at 563-380-7195
or postvillecna@yahoo.com to volunteer. |
