Jennifer
Bentley
Joins ISU Extension as Extension Dairy Field Specialist

Jennifer Bentley has joined Iowa State University Extension as an
Extension Dairy Field Specialist in northeast Iowa. She has been
assigned to eleven counties: Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer,
Butler, Chickasaw, Fayette, Floyd, Grundy, Howard, Mitchell, and
Winneshiek.
She replaces Dale Thoreson who retired in January after 37 years with
ISU Extension.
Bentley was previously employed by the Iowa Agriculture and Home
Economics Experiment Station and assigned to the Northeast Iowa
Community Based Dairy Foundation at Calmar. As an experiment
station employee Bentley served
as the Ag Research Technician and Calf Manager, a position she held
since 2002. Bentley holds a bachelor’s degree from Iowa
State University in Dairy Science and is currently working on her
Master’s degree in Agriculture at ISU.
Bentley was raised on a 200-head dairy farm near Stacyville, IA.
She brings expertise in calf care, fresh cow care and herd management
to her new position.
“I am really enjoying all the learning that is occurring in my new role
and am looking forward to assisting the dairy farmers in northeast
Iowa,” says Bentley.
